Information We Collect
When you connect your Gmail account to Newsletter Summariser via Google OAuth, we receive your basic profile information, including your name, email address and profile picture, to authenticate you securely and provide a personalised experience. We then access only the metadata of your newsletter emails, including the sender’s address, subject line and date, so that our systems can distinguish newsletter content from other messages in your inbox. We do not store the full text of your emails; instead, we generate AI-powered summaries and retain only those summaries together with any labels or organisational tags you apply.
How We Use Your Data
We process your personal data to perform the contract you enter into when you sign up, which includes authenticating your account, identifying and filtering newsletters, generating concise summaries and organising content according to your preferences. We also rely on our legitimate interests to analyse anonymised usage patterns such as how often you run batch summaries or adjust focus topics in order to improve system stability, enhance performance and refine our features over time, while always respecting your rights and freedoms.
Data Retention
Your account information and OAuth tokens are stored on our secure servers for as long as your account remains active, and any summaries together with their associated metadata are kept until you choose to delete them or close your account. Behavioural logs are anonymised after twelve months so that we can support long-term product improvements without retaining personally identifiable details.
Data Security
We employ industry-standard security measures across our entire architecture. All communications between your device and our servers are encrypted with HTTPS/TLS, and our PostgreSQL database connections are secured via TLS. Sensitive credentials are managed via environment variables, session cookies are protected against tampering, and we enforce strict authentication and authorisation checks on every API endpoint. Regular security audits and robust error-handling practices minimise the risk of unauthorised access or information leakage.
SHARING AND THIRD PARTIES
We do not sell, rent or lease your personal data. We share only the minimum necessary information with Google’s Gmail API to retrieve newsletter metadata and with OpenAI and Google Gemini solely to perform the AI summarisation you request. Any hosting, analytics or ancillary services engaged by Evolutio Consulting Pte. Ltd. operate under GDPR-compliant data-processing agreements that ensure continued protection of your information.
International Data Transfers
Some of our service providers, including OpenAI and Google, may process data outside the UK or the EEA. We have implemented appropriate safeguards—such as the EU’s Standard Contractual Clauses—to guarantee that your personal data enjoys the same level of protection as it would within the UK or EEA.
